Michael
Mol is best known as one of South Africa's top TV presenters,
having co-hosted Top Billing (SA's longest running prime
magazine show ever) for the last five years. Besides his TV
work, he is a sought after MC, presenter and transformational
speaker, and has in recent years been shifting his emphasis to
assisting people and organisations understand the basis for
truly significant living. "From success to signficance" is a
phrase you will hear often from him.
Michael grew up in Pretoria, where he studied and completed his
training as a medical doctor in 1995, with an MBChB from the
University of Pretoria. He quickly added a Diploma in Primary
Emergency Care (Dip PEC) and qualified in Advanced Trauma,
Cardiac & Paediatric Life Support (APLS, ATLS, ACLS). His
medical experience includes 2 years as Senior HO in an Emergency
unit, and 1 year as the Emergency Flight Physician on one of
only two Medical Emergency Choppers serving Gauteng.
He then entered (and much to his surprise) won the Mr South
Africa competition, and this allowed him to launch a career in
the media. Michael grabbed the opportunity with both hands, and
has rapidly made a name for himself as a superlative
communicator, and gifted commentator on life. Besides the
regular plaudits of audiences, he has received a number of
industry accolades, including the NTVA Award for Best On Camera
Presentation (2000, 2001, and 2003), and the NTVA Award in 2001
for Scriptwriter for the programme.
As a Master of Ceremonies, he has few equals, and is much sought
after around the world. Some of his personal highlights include:
Miss South Africa 1998 (live broadcast), Miss South Africa Teen
(1999, 2000, 2001 - all live broadcasts), Miss Africa 2001, 2002
(live broadcast across Africa, Asia & Europe to 350 million
viewers), Kora All Africa Music Awards 2001 (live broadcast
across Africa, Asia & Europe), and the SAPPI wards 2001 (Hong
Kong).
Michael's passion for understanding the world around him has led
him to make a subtle shift in emphasis by joining
TomorrowToday.biz, a futurist consultancy, in 2004. This shift
will allow him to devote more time to working with individuals
and organisations, helping them to understand the way the world
works, trends that will affect us in the future, and what to do
today to be ready for them. In particular, Michael has a passion
for helping people find true significance and a holistic,
balanced approach to the world they live in. This combines his
medical training, his life experiences and his business skills
in a truly unique blend that sets him aside from the average
motivational or inspirational speaker.
He is the only member of the TomorrowToday.biz team that doesn't
need to use Afrikaans in self defense only - he is fluent in
English and Afrikaans!
Michael has been married to Jacqui since 1994, and has two
children, Joshua and Rachael. They live happily in Johannesburg,
South Africa, where Michael indulges in all sorts of reckless
activities
